Technical Event: VFA Arcadia Fish Hatchery – Stage 2 Works Site Inspection

A lot has changed in 3 years since IN-GV last visited the Arcadia Fish Hatchery, with stage 2 works now complete. BMD has delivered the $10 million expansion for Victorian Fisheries Authority (VFA).
The works will increase fish production from 1.6 million per year to 6 million per year, with varieties including Murray Cod & Golden Perch Stage 2 scope of works included the following:
60 Plankton Ponds
30 Brood Ponds
4 Catfish Ponds
5 Re-use Ponds
New Harvest Station
4 New Pump Stations
Conversion of existing turkey nest dam into fish out pond
Other works upgrades that have happened in site in the last few years include the visitor information centre, new office buildings, hatchery building and more.
