Come along and learn about the Greater Shepparton City Council (GSCC) redevelopment of the Maude Street Mall from GSCC’s Project Manager Liam Moller.
The Project is redeveloping the heart of the Shepparton CBD into a more functional and active space with new vehicular access and parking to promote new opportunities for commercial, social and recreational interaction in the space. The scope includes:
- Demolition of existing infrastructure to make way for redevelopment
- Relocation or replacement of underground gas, water, drainage, electrical and communication infrastructure
- Construction of paved one-way roadway, parallel parking and loading zones
- Paved promenade footpaths
- New playground at Fraser Street
- Development of community spaces
- Installation of street and decorative lighting
- Retention of select trees and planting of new trees
- Irrigation to support the project area
- Upgrade of CCTV network
- Modification of High Street and Maude Street intersection

Greater Shepparton City Council (GSCC) has recently added a new landfill cell. Hear from GSCC’s Project Manager Paul Newcombe and Waste Supervisor Jason Perna on the project out on site.
GSCC owns and operates the Cosgrove Landfill Precinct which is located approximately 20km to the east of Shepparton. The landfill is a Type 2 landfill accepting solid inert waste, putrescible waste and other waste types in accordance with Schedule 2 – Waste Acceptance Tables of the License. The current operating cell (Cell 1) at Cosgrove 3, is nearing the end of its useful life and the Council has constructed a new landfill cell (Cell 2) to ensure uninterrupted continuous landfill for the community. Cell 2 has a design capacity of approx. 500,000m3 or 4 years fill capacity based on 65,000 t p/a.
