Event Details
At a previous IN-GV presentation in 2019, Steven Nash for GVW/WSAA presented on the risks and opportunities of managing and replacing the aging asbestos cement water pipes in Australia. The audience supported the vision of exploring further options for managing and replacing Asbestos Cement (AC) Water mains in-line.
This has resulted ultimately in a world first trial of replacing and rehabilitating an AC water main in-line using EncapsulAC with a pipe reaming technique known as Encapsulated Pipe Reline (EPR) in Fair Street, Shepparton that is in the final stages of completion.
This project was support by GVW and Intelligent Water Networks (IWN) and had a unique project team. It has created interest across Australia and from around the world. It is officially being launched at the No-Dig Melbourne conference in September 2025.
Join Steven Nash, Senior Water Engineer at CAF Consulting as he presents the results so far and the story of how the project evolved to a successful trial in Fair Street, Shepparton.
